Follow-up Comment #3, patch #4872 (project freeciv):

helpdata.txt for Wonders of the World claims any player learning tech
obsoletes wonders, but that's no longer baked into the engine (and not true of
civ2civ3 as of patch #5542). Text should be weakened for the more general
game.

There might be other cases like that; I haven't looked.
